Ebay's fee's just ruined my happiness of selling what I sold....

So I have this gift card.
From my Grandma.
That I got for Christmas.

It's a Starbucks gift card with an obscene amount of money on it to go and spend on coffee. To be honest....I don't drink coffee. So what do I do like every other person that has a gift card, I try and trade/ sell it to everyone I know at discount. I had no takers.

Second best option- ebay.

So I put I list this gift card on ebay because it's free listing day. And what do they do? They charge me 0.50 to list my card..... Ok, I thought it was free listing day. Not a big deal- I don't have anything invested in this gift  card. Well not even 12 hours later- my gift card sold. I'm excited, I'm jumping up and down and pumped that Grandma got me something I wanted for Christmas! (Who doesn't like cash?)

Then I look at the fees.
Here's a breakdown...

  • $0.50 to list the giftcard.
  • $4.50 final price fee on the giftcard. (That's 10% of what the card sold for)
  • $1.60 to transfer the money from PayPal to my account
  • Grand Total- $6.60.
  • Oh and I gave free shipping- but that's not ebay's fault.
I know I shouldn't be bothered by this because I mean c'mon it WAS a gift. But really think about this.... I sold a book the other day for $0.99. I was charged $0.25 to list it. Then ebay took 27% of my $0.99 that the book sold for.

Soooo.... I end up making $0.48.
Cool.

Now I don't know if anyone remembers when ebay wasn't greedy.. Fees we're low, they weren't trying to rob the online world of buyers and sellers...

Well that's what we've come to do. We created this site not so we had some where to buy and sell our own items- we created ibuyintheusa.com so that normal people weren't paying 10-30% of there profits to a greedy company.

We  have swooped in to rescue you.

Our profile on http://www.storeboard.com

iBuyintheUSA.com was just recently launched 3 weeks ago. We are currently getting over 35,000 page views a day and we're rocking and rolling! We're super excited to change the way buyers and sellers pay fees, interact with other buyers and sellers online, and are able to post auctions.

Here's a few little tid bits about why we started iBuy.

My dad and I have been buyers, sellers, and flippers for a long time. Flippers in the buying and selling world pretty much buy something at a good cost and sell it for anywhere from 100% markup to sometimes 4,000% markup. This is something that runs in my family, my grandfather was a flipper for more than fifty years. So to say the least it runs in our blood.

Ebay? Now who hasn't heard of ebay? Anyone who has sold items on ebay have also experienced the high fees to list, high fees for photos, and high final price fees once you sell your item. So we got thinking one day and started asking people who sold on ebay how happy they were with site. We got a 95% negative response from sellers.
Why? Because they were paying anywhere from 10-30% of their total profits to ebay and paypal, they have to pay to list items even if they don't sell, and to top it off- they are BUYER PROTECTED. Does it say anything about protecting the Seller? Absolutely not! So a lot of times when the buyer is unhappy with an item, wants to scam someone or just plain wants to be a jerk, the Seller suffers.

Here's an example. One of our clients owns a resale shop. They are called Wise Buys. They sold a blackberry to phone to a buyer in South Africa. The buyer received the phone exactly as described, but was not happy that the Blackberry did not a slot for a sim card because the phone would not work with South Africa's phone services without one. That particular model of Blackberry was never made to have a sim card because of the carrier. So what happened? The buyer wanted a refund-for the phone AND the shipping. It was not cheap to ship it to South Africa. The shipping had already been paid to ship it there, now the Seller is having to lose money to pay to ship the phone back and give a refund?! Just because they did not want to jeopardize getting a negative comment on ebay.

Now you would think that the Seller is able to leave some kind of negative feedback for the Buyer. NOPE. You may only leave positive feedback. Duking it out with ebay about who's right is extremely difficult and unfair to the Seller.

So that is one of the main reasons we started iBuyintheUSA.com. We strongly believe that both parties NEED to be protected in transactions when shady people try and do business online. We're super excited about the progress we've made thus far and can't wait to see what 2012 is going to bring for our buyers and sellers!

Realty Media Services. Where are you lacking as an agent

CBS Morning news recently reported that by 2016, one billion people will be using smart phones. Already people are using the internet to do their primary search and even more so now with the availability of a smart phone at your fingertips. How are you staying above the curve? ESPECIALLY IN REAL ESTATE?

Realtors above everyone else in this economy right now, need to make their traditional marketing techniques work in a way that makes them stand out from the crowd. Linking your flyers, signs, business cards, direct mail, and promotional items back to  your website only enhances the number of people you reach and your web presence.

Make the homes you sell easier to search for by having a virtual tour that is linked to your for sale signs so  that your customers and potential customers can view the house before they even walk in the door. It only makes it easier on yourself and the client.

By using a virtual tour your houses automatically come up in the search engines first and by linking them with a PT Code™ on the sign, you get more views. Everyone knows that most people don't go past the first page of search engines. So you need to catch your customers attention right away. How are you going to do that?

PT Codes.

How are YOU creating that "Wow!" factor for your potential customer base? The more you stand out from other agents, the more people want to use YOU as their agent.

Email us directly at wascaal@gmail.com for our rates on all Realty Media Services such as virtual tours, pt code decals, real estate signs and more.
